Anna is a Pakistani-American actress, writer, and director working across film, television, and theater.
She currently stars opposite Sir Ben Kingsley as Zipporah in The Old Stories: Moses, a three-part special on Prime Video.

She is known for her work on Netflix’s The Lincoln Lawyer, AMC’s The Walking Dead franchise, Prime's The Chosen, HBO’s Hacks, ABC's Quantico and NBC’s The Good Place.
As a playwright and solo performer, Anna wrote and performed SHAHEED: The Dream and Death of Benazir Bhutto, which enjoyed an extended Off-Broadway run in New York. Time Out called the production “a wonder” and “heart-stopping, engrossing, funny, and profound theatre.”

Anna is the recipient of the Google x Black List Storytelling Fellowship and the Grand Prize Winner of the 2023 ScreenCraft TV Pilot Competition. Her original work often explores identity, faith, belonging, and modern Muslim life.
​
Her award-winning short film HEADBANG, which she wrote and directed, has screened at nearly 30 festivals worldwide, including Oscar-qualifying festivals, and was featured at the Hammer Museum’s Flux Screening Series.

She is also the co-founder of Silver Thread, an initiative dedicated to centering Muslim and Muslim-rooted voices in entertainment.
